Job Title: Analog Engineer

Job Description
The initial primary task for this analog engineer will be to design and develop electronics for interfacing silicon ultrasound MEMS transducers with medical ultrasound systems. The incumbent will be responsible for developing requirement specifications, designing circuits, and interacting with process, layout and manufacturing engineers, as well as final testing and debugging of PCB assemblies.
Necessary attributes:
- Practical experience with analog and digital circuit design at the PCB level.
- Prior experience with mixed signal mid- to high-frequency multi-layer PCB designs.
- Understanding of low noise design techniques.
- PCB or ASIC Analog layout experience (any tool).
- Schematic Capture experience (any tool).
- Extensive experience with Spice circuit simulation.
- Familiarity with MATLAB technical analysis software.
- Lab skills -- oscilloscope, function generator, logic analyzer, network analyzer, and soldering.
- VHDL/Verilog language experience.
Advantageous experience:
- FPGA design experience (Altera & Xilinx preferred)
- Experience with analog IC design
- PCB Tools: Cadence Concept HDL, Mentor Viewlogic/Design DX, Allegro PCB layout
- ASIC Tools: Cadence Virtuoso schematic capture. Spectre simulation tools

Job Description
The successful applicant will develop new approaches to medical ultrasonic imaging. Using unique Siemens technologies such as silicon ultrasound, coherent volume formation and knowledge-based image analysis, you will create applications to transform the practice of medicine. As a staff scientist, your focus will be on the most challenging and satisfying problems in the field of ultrasound.
Necessary attributes:
- Master's degree in electrical engineering, physics or related discipline.
- Experience designing signal processing algorithms.
- Results-oriented individual comfortable working in fast-paced business environment.
- "Hands-on development" ability, encompassing conceptual thinking, mathematical analysis, experimental design and engineering trade-offs.
Advantageous experience:
- Familiarity with medical ultrasonic imaging.
- Knowledge of beam formation techniques.
- Ability to create sophisticated software systems in MATLAB.
- Mixed-signal electronic design.
